Jeriel Ndeda Obura: Top KCSE Student Want to Join Maseno University For a Medicine Course

Jeriel Ndeda Obura, the best student in the KCSE exam in 2021, plans to study medicine at Maseno University.

The former student of Mang’u High School scored an A of 87.16 points.

Obura said he has always been interested in biology, which prompted him to apply for a medicine course at the Kisumu-based institution.

He noted he was surprised to learn that he was the best nationally, saying that he had projected an A of 84 points, three points lower than his actual score.

“I’m in a good mood. In my academics, I have always worked hard. I expected an A of 84 points on the tests because I felt all of the courses to be feasible; I was ecstatic when I learned that I was the first in the country,” he said as quoted by Citizen TV.

Hassan, Nyabuto, and Mobisa were three of his close buddies in school who encouraged him to work hard.

“When they heard my name, they were the first ones to call me. I didn’t always come out on top of my class; there were times when someone came in first before me, but I just kept going because I believed in myself,” he stated.
