Kalonzo must rejoin Azimio to stay on the winning team

Makueni MP Dan Maanzo now says Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka must rethink his decision to run for Presidency.

Speaking on Tuesday, Maanzo said talks spearheaded by key leaders within Azimio have been ongoing in efforts to woo Kalonzo back to the coalition.

“I have requested Kalonzo to reconsider running for Presidency and rectify whatever issue he has with Azimio, clearly we have two major competitors in the country and it only makes sense if we work together,” he stated.

The MP noted that Wiper had questioned the legality of the Chief Cabinet Secretary Position offered to Kalonzo by Azimio.

“One of the issues we have with Azimio is the legality of the Chief Cabinet Secretary post. There is need for some modification to make it legal because one has to be a Cabinet Secretary before they become a Chief Cabinet Secretary,” Maanzo said.

His sentiments come a few hours after Wiper Party officials and aspirants ruled out a possibility of Kalonzo joining the Kenya Kwanza Alliance saying the only option on table remained Azimio.

“Moving forward where Kalonzo Musyoka stand is where the next government will be. I want to assure you that we cant work with Kenya Kwanza or Kenya Kwisha,” Wiper’s Organizing Secretary Rober Mbui said during a Press conference Monday.

Kalonzo defected from Azimio-One Kenya coalition after missing out on the slot to be Raila Odinga’s running mate.
