Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka addresses supporters, dismissing claims of stepping down from the 2027 presidential race.
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has come out swinging, slamming rumors that he has stepped down from the 2027 presidential race.
Speaking on Friday, September 19, a fiery Kalonzo dismissed the reports as nothing but propaganda pushed by his political enemies who fear his growing influence.
“I know my enemies are suffering because they know I will definitely be on the ballot come 2027, God willing,” he declared, drawing cheers from supporters.
This was speculated by political strategist Mutahi Ngunyi, who recently advised Kalonzo to go into an alliance with President William Ruto should he seek a chance at power in 2032. Ngunyi came out in no uncertain terms and said that Kalonzo would lose should he run against Ruto as the opposition in 2027.
But such talk is not amusing, Kalonzo. He has indicated clearly that he will not surrender to the government of Ruto.
On July 18, during a rally in Kitui, Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi had hinted that eventually Kalonzo would join Ruto and Raila Odinga on a national unity front. Kalonzo shot down the proposal instantly, terming the Ruto regime a rogue and criminal one.
“I will never join this rogue and criminal regime. I will not participate in any dialogue with a government that harms its own citizens,” he thundered.
As time runs out to 2027, Kalonzo is branding himself as the incomparable resistance fighter who will not make any deals, will not give way, will not compromise, and will go straight with Ruto.
What is certain is that Kalonzo Musyoka desires the presidency, and he is here to stay in the race.
