Kawangware with two, Parklands two, Riruta one, South C one, Umoja one and Juja Road one.

The ages of the positive cases range from 8 years for the youngest and 73 years for the oldest.

He appealed to the residents in Nairobi Eastleigh Estate and Old Town in Mombasa to adhere to the stringent measures put in place in a bid to curb the rising numbers of people testing positive adding that the directives are aimed at protecting everyone.

“We’re urging residents of Eastleigh and Old Town to strictly adhere to the measures we’ve outlined and the guidelines meant to mitigate against the disease such as washing hands, maintaining social distancing, observing high standards of hygiene, wearing of face masks.” Said Dr Aman

Dr. Rashid Aman also reported seven new recoveries and discharges, bringing the total to 197.  Three more patients succumbed, bringing the total fatalities to 29.

” Am equally saddened to inform you that we have lost three other patients. Two are from Nairobi, while one is from Mombasa.”

He said they had observed that arising from the directives, some people had decided to sneak out of the restricted areas and relocated to the neigbouring estates. He cautioned that the move was counterproductive.

“This is because if you happen to be infected unknowing, then you have just transferred the problem to another area. To the residents of Eastleigh and Old Town, I Want to remind you that it should not be business as usual. The measures we outlined yesterday must be strictly adhered to, together with other guidelines mean  to mitigate against the disease.

” We are appealing to Kenyans to report to the authorities any persons who recently moved into their neighbourhoods. We should be our brother’s keeper.” Added Dr. Aman.

He also informed that the government has made plans to evacuate Kenyans who had travelled to India for treatment and are meant to land this evening (Thursday)  at JKIA where staff from the Ministry of Health will facilitate their arrival.
