Kenya has recorded 307 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours from 3,591 samples, bringing the tally to 6,673.

The number of positive cases is high because many people are not adhering to containment measures advised by the government, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman said during the daily Covid-19 briefing.

Dr Aman said the high number of daily Covid-19 cases indicate that Kenya is likely to reach its peak between July and September.

At the same time, Dr Aman announced that 50 patients have been discharged raising the total recoveries to 2,089, while the death toll rose to 149 after one more person died overnight.
