A Kenyan preacher who is alleged to have taken off with one of his congregant’s wife in August, 2019 has been found murdered.

The lifeless body of Bishop Francis Mugweru of Joy Springs Soul-winning Worship Centre was discovered less than 500 meters from his residence in Kiganjo, Kiambu county last weekend, according to reports.

Reports further indicate that the cleric was dragged from his house by unknown people on Thursday night before he was found dead. His body had deep cuts and injuries on the head, indicating he may have been hit multiple times with a blunt object.

Mugweru’s brother Samuel Njuguna while confirming his death called for speedy investigations and arrest of those behind his murder.

“We want justice for our slain brother, father and spiritual leader. Police should leave no stone unturned until they apprehend those behind his death.”

“I saw the body on my way to work in Thika town but I did not recognise him. An hour later, I was called by neighbours who told me that he had been murdered,” said Njuguna.

The deceased parted ways with his wife, Agnes Wangivi in 2013 before eloping with the spouse and kids of John Kanyua, one of his church members. Mugweru had earlier revealed plans to officiate his union with his new partner, Leah Wambui,, saying “I am not ready for any reconciliation with my former wife. My decision to ditch her was final and I am forging forward with my preparations to formalise my new marriage.”
