Kenyan Queen of Ohangla is dead after long illness

– Lady Maureen passed away on Saturday, July 11 at 3:21am

– The Ohangla queen battled an unknown illness that saw her in and out of the hospital for the last two years

– According to a source close to the family, the singer passed away at her cousin’s place

Kenyan queen of Ohangla Maureen Achieng alias Lady Maureen has passed away.

According to her family, Maureen who has been ailing for a long time passed away at Uriri in Migori County.

According to a close source to the family, the queen of Ohangala succumbed to her illness on Saturday, July 11 at 3:21am.

Mike Peter Sirkal said that the singer was at her cousin’s place in Awendo and plans to take her to Omboo mortuary were underway.

“At 3:30 am I received a call that shocked me. It was a call from Margret Akinyi Onyango ( lady Maureen’s biological mother) she called while crying. I knew bad news it was. Lady Maureen passed on at her cousin’s place in Awendo around 3:21 am plans are underway to take her to Omboo mortuary,” said Mike.

The entertainer has been in and out of hospital for the past two years.

In January 2020, the musician was admitted to Pastor Machage Memorial Hospital.

Three months ago, the singer said she was ready to release a new song to praise God after leaving the hospital.

Maureen said she had a lot of songs that she wanted to release while still alive.
