Kenyans have a good history of helping people in need with the little resources they have and today, Monday, July 13, they came out in a similar fashion to support an elderly woman whose house got burned.

A video of the elderly woman pleading for help while she was in the company of two orphaned grandchildren surfaced on social media and netizens were moved by her story.

In the viral video, the lady said her house had been razed down by fire and that she was living in some shed which she was sharing with hens and goats.

In a thread on Twitter dubbed I stand with mama Obonyo, Kenyans quickly came up with a pay bill number where well-wishers could channel their contribution to.

This came days after Kenyans raised money to help former Tusker Project Fame star Alvan Gatitu who went through a tough time due to COVID-19.

In a candid eight minutes video shared on his Facebook page on Sunday, July 5, Alvan revealed he was forced to sleep out in the cold the previous night after he failed to clear his rent arrears.

The singer tried contacting his friends who declined to host him but one of the security guys to a friend’s home allowed him to sleep in his guard booth.
