Kenyans in US, other countries should get ready to register to vote from Jan 21 – Chebukati

Statement from IEBC Chairman Chebukati on the upcoming elections.
HIGHLIGHTS:
* Diaspora voter registration from 21st January to 6th February.

*Diasporans voting abroad will only be able to vote for president .
*Resignation of public officers desirous of vying for elective office 6 months before election to be determined in case filed in Kenya courts.
*US, S. Sudan, Canada, Qatar, UAE, Germany added to diaspora voting locations. Voting only at embassies, high commissions and consulates. Registration will be done during the official working hours at these locations.
*Kenyans in Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi can use ID cards to register.
* Note: A Biometric Voter Registration kit (BVR) will be available at Anniversary Towers location for Diasporans in Kenya during the voter registration period register to vote.
