Kenya’s Covid-19 Cases Soar as 603 Test Positive

Kenya’s Covid-19 cases rose to 13,353 on Sunday, July 19, after 603 individuals tested positive over the preceding 24 hours.

In a press statement sent out by the Ministry of Health, CS Mutahi Kagwe urged Kenyans to strictly adhere to the stipulated measures to curb the spread of the virus.

A total of 5,724 samples was tested in the same period of time bringing a cumulative figure of 243,887 of tests done so far.

Out of the 603 cases, 361 were male with 242 being female. The youngest was a seven-month-old infant, while the oldest was identified as an86-year-old

An additional 682 people were discharged bringing the total number of recoveries to 5,122 

Sadly the death toll rose to 234, after 9 more patients succumbed to the virus.

The 603 cases are distributed in counties as follows: Nairobi 441, Kiambu 44, Mombasa 22, Nakuru 17, Kilifi 10, Machakos 6, Kisii 6, Makueni 5, Murang’a 3, Nyeri 2, Kakamega 1, Kericho 1, Kisumu 1, Kwale 1, Lamu 1, narok 1, Tharaka Nithi 1, and Uasin Gishu 1.
