Spurs looked determined from the first blast of the whistle and were already 1-0 ahead when James Justin held his head in his hands as he puts the ball past his own goalkeeper.
With the restart in the second half, Leicester City who were determined to pull a comeback made quick changes with Ryan Bennett coming off for Demarai Gray, before Kelechi Iheanacho replaced Ayoze Perez.
Three other changes were made by desperate Foxes but all to no avail, with their quest for a Champions League spot now hanging on a thread.
With the result, Tottenham are now sixth on the Premier League standings with 58 points with one game left.
They will hope to Wolverhampton Wanderers slump on Monday night against Crystal Palace.
Leicester City, on the other hand now have their UEFA Champions League qualification hopes hanging in the balance and face the prospect of dropping to fifth.
