‘Leta Mtoto Nitalea,’ Sonko Responds to Baba Mama Demanding Huge Child Upkeep

“You are not going to get even a penny from me”.

This was the response of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko after a woman sued her for allegedly neglecting their daughter.

While the woman who has lodged the case at the Ngogo magistrate court remains anonymous, Sonko, in a Facebook post, acknowledged to knowing her.

He remarked that she uses children to blackmail people, but this time around she pounced the wrong target.

He told the woman to take the 15-year-old to him if she was serious in her suit.

“Am kindly asking the lady alleging that she has my 15 years old kid to bring the kid to me just the same way her two other kids Jabali and Riley were recently taken from her by her ex boyfriend Austin who now stays with them at Langata because this woman uses children to blackmail people up get money for partying.

“When the child is mine or not, she should bring her to me, I will be a good father, but she should not expect me to give her even a single penny,” he wrote.

Court papers indicate that that the woman wants Ksh448,450 in child upkeep every month.

Pending hearing she determination of the case, she wants the court to compel the flamboyant politician to part with Ksh37,000 to clear the child’s school fees.

“Mr Sonko and I are the biological parents of the minor herein.”

“Mr Sonko has always been defiant and brazen to accept responsibility and assist me with the maintenance of the minor. He has over the years willfully withdrawn support towards the maintenance of the minor thus denying her what is rightfully hers and forcing me to take full responsibility for the minor,” she claimed her affidavit.

The woman alleged that she met Sonko in 1999, but their daughter was born in 2007.

She added the the former Nairobi senator last gave her money to take care of the child’s needs in 2018.
