List of Winners in the Kisumu County ODM Nominations

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party on Tuesday, 19th April held nominations in Kisumu County to fill in candidates in various political positions.

The nominations were conducted for the positions of MPs, Senators MCAs and the Woman Representative position.

In the governor position, Prof Anyang Nyong’o was vying for the position with Ken Obura but ODM handed Nyong’o a direct ticket.

In the MP seat race in Kisumu constituencies, all the incumbents bagged the ODM tickets except in Kisumu Central where sitting MP Fred Ouda lost the ODM ticket to businessman Dr Joshua Oron.

Oron got 6,842 votes against the MP’s 5,362 votes.

In the Kisumu East constituency, Nicholas Oricho emerged the winner after beating three other opponents.

In Nyakach, the incumbent MP Aduma Owuor floored six other aspirants who were eying the ODM ticket.

Aduma got 3,893 votes to emerge victorious while former MP Daima Ochieng managed 3,000 votes.

Muhoroni MP Onyango Koyoo beat four other contestants to clinch the ODM ticket.

Koyoo got 4,043 votes followed by Hezron McObewa who garnered 3,317.

Senior counsel Tom Ojienda and Ruth Odinga have clinched the ODM senatorial and Woman representative tickets respectively in the party primaries.

Ojienda garnered 39, 336 votes against his closest rival nominated Senator Rose Nyamunga who had 18,319.
