“If found guilty the house will vote on her impeachment. If not, I shall direct on how we shall proceed,” Lusaka announced.

Waiguru was accused of three charges, graft, abuse of office and violation of procurement regulations.

The Kirinyaga County Assembly said that the decision to impeach Governor Anne Waiguru was a last resort, claiming she is rude and has dictatorial tendencies.

According to the Ward Reps, the governor has never had time for them.

Supporting the move to impeach the governor when they appeared before a Senate committee on Tuesday, the MCAs portrayed Ms Waiguru as a corrupt individual who manages county public affairs as she pleases.

Upon receiving the report, Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka will decide whether Waiguru will be set free through a plenary vote. This depends on the outcome of the report.

If any allegations against her were proven, the Senate will accord her the opportunity to defend herself before voting on the impeachment charges
