Two Kenyans doing ordinary jobs enjoyed the limelight when Deputy President William Ruto arrived at the Bomas of Kenya to be cleared by the electoral commission to run for the presidency.
The UDA party leader has been billing his ambition around the ‘Hustler Nation’, saying that “my administration” will strive to empower the downtrodden.
Taking that into consideration, the second in command picked two common people to officially kickstart his journey to State House.
Pauline Waithera was the proposer of his presidential bid while Calvine Ochieng seconded.
The DP praised the two for believing in his dream and promised that he will not let them down if his presidential quest materialises.
He claimed that he met them during the Kenya Kwanza economic forums that have been happening around the country.

“Pauline Waithera is a great woman from Kiambu market in Kangangi where I met her in one of our economic forums discussing the economy of every county.
“Calvine Ochieng who runs his small hustle around Kilimani and constantly gives us support in the UDA office whenever we need somebody to transport something,” he said.
Waithera operates a grocery shop while Ochieng is a boda boda operator in the city.
After he got the nod to to make his first attempt at the presidency, the DP set out for a political lap around the city to market himself. He addressed seven stopovers before making a grand entry at the historic Kamukunji grounds in Embakasi.
“You have not seen anything yet. We are just starting our campaigns,” the DP said after the IEBC clearance.
