Man sentenced to life imprisonment for defilement, incest

A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of defilement and incest.

According to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) two prosecutors; Mwanaidi Rama and Christine Achieng proved the case at the Makadara Law Courts.

The court heard that 64-year-old Salim Bashir had been sexually abusing his 11-year-old daughter for five years and defiling his step daughter for one year.

“He did so on several occasions at night when the wife and girls were asleep,” states the ODPP

The girls recently gathered courage and informed their mother who then reported the matter to Kamukunji Police Station.
