Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has turned to social media to express her disappointment over her absence from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga’s big day at KICC.
Karua was the sole One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principle who did not attend the Azimio la Umoja National Delegates Convention (NDC) at KICC, which was attended by Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, KANU’s Gideon Moi, and UDM party Chief Cyrus Jirongo.
And, as fate would have it, the NDC would be the venue for Kalonzo to finally declare that he was abandoning his presidential bid in favor of Odinga, as well as that OKA had joined the Azimio la Umoja campaign.
Despite being one of the candidates on a very limited list of potential leaders from the Mt. Kenya area to deputise Odinga in the contest to State House, Karua’s voice in the subject stayed mute following her absence.
Odinga was approved as the Azimio la Umoja movement’s joint presidential candidate on Saturday, ahead of the August 9 election.
Over 20 member parties signed a coalition agreement with the NDC to officially proclaim their allegiance to the Azimio la Umoja group.
Wiper, led by Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi’s KANU, Wafula Wamunyinyi’s DAP-K, and Governor Alfred Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap are amongst the parties.
