Flamingo MCA Eddy Kiragu is at war with Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui over his move to protect impeached county executive Lucy Kariuki.
Before the impeachment, Kinyanjui moved her from roads to the sports,youth, and gender docket.
Kariuki was impeached over abuse of office and gross misconduct. Kinyanjui’s move to save her has raised many questions within the county with rumours they are relatives or operate businesses secretly. Others have even been overheard claiming, they are lovers.
Kiragu who is the chair of the county assembly committee on youth, sports and culture noted that the youth docket should not be a dumping ground for rejected public officers.

Members of Nakuru county assembly impeached the CeC by voting 49 out of 71.
Kinyanjui before the impeachment moved the CeC to the department of youth and gender in a minicabinet reshuffle, a move that was rejected by MCAs.
She defended herself at the ad-hoc committee of the county assembly over allegations of failing to deliver on the Boresha Barabara and street lighting projects.
Kariuki blames committee’s chair Michael Machembu for witchunt inprivate.
She said the Boresha Barabara project was delayed in some wards due to the delay in the approval of the budget.
She has also blamed the Peter Kajwang’-led ad-hoc committee for having already decided to finish her.
The motion to impeach her was fronted by the committee that was probing her misconduct after the house in March adopted a report by the committee on infrastructure that recommended her impeachment.
The report which was tabled by the infrastructure committee chair Machembu had three recommendations: That Kariuki be given an opportunity to defend herself on the floor of the house, Kinyanjui makes changes to his cabinet or the CeC gets kicked out of office to save them.
Ol-Karia ward MCA Peter Palang’a who is also the minority leader was part of the impeachment plot.
