The Uasin Gishu County Assembly has objected the planned purchase of the National Bank building by the Governor Jackson Mandago-led administration at a cost of Sh568 million.
According to one of the MCA,the plan to buy the building was sinister moreso coming at the time the governor is doing his final term.To him,those surrounding Mandago were out to make millions in the purchase scheme as part of retirement strategy.

The motion to block was moved by the County Assembly Leader of Majority Josphat Lowoi.
The MCAs wondered loud that the cost to construct modern is Sh300 million and already in budget and passed. d.
Lowoi argues,e county government should identify piece of land it owns for construction.To him, the Controller of Budget should be informed so that no money meant for the purchase of the National Bank building is released.
Uasin Gishu Deputy Speaker Hosea Korir seconded the motion.Korir said, legal issues surrounded ownership of the National Bank land which could put taxpayers’ money at risk.
Cheptiret/Kipchamo MCA Gilbert Tenai also supported the motion.What surprised many is that, Lands CeC pushing for purchase of the building before MCAs was hiding the value.
Speaker David Kiplagat who was in the chair said his office will move with speed to ensure that the resolution of the House is adhered to.
