Death can be described as a journey with no return. Well, Kenyan broadcaster Jane Ngoiri, formerly of NTV, yesterday, 4th July, took to her social media platforms, with nostalgia about her father, who passed away seven years ago. The well-spoken Jane shared a photo of her in her graduation gown standing next to her late dad.

“Those we love never go away; they walk beside us every day. Seven years ago, the world’s greatest dad breathed his last…Wawa you are dearly missed,” she wrote.

The former NTV Kiswahili news anchor is among the few privileged journalists who have been honoured by President Uhuru Kenyatta. In 2020, she bagged the Head of State Commendation. Ngoiri quit the Nation Media Group-owned station on 30th January.

Her departure saddened most of her staunch fans who were fond of her fluent Kiswahili. However, she did not disclose her reason for resigning but only hinted at wanting to work on her own projects.

Jane once worked at K24 as an English news reporter but left the station later in 2011. She gave her reason for leaving as a means to seek growth opportunities.
