Moses Wetangula Faces the Wrath of Police for Holding Illegal Rally

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has faced the wrath of police officers, teargassed after his home county visit turned chaotic with armed police officers turning away supporters who turned out in large numbers to welcome him home.

In the company of Bungoma MCA and MPs from the ruling Jubilee and Ford Kenya parties in the Western region, the senator and the team attracted police attention who responded promptly to disperse the crowd.

Wetangula’s convoy was interrupted by the presence of anti-riot police at Kamukuywa in Kimilili constituency thwarting his move to address the the public who were eagerly waiting to welcome him home.

Speaking after the dramatic seen, the senator blamed Bungoma county commissioner Abdi Mohamed Hassan for the dramatic encounter with anti-riot police.

“We informed the county commissioner that we make an entry from Kamukuywa to Kimilili and finally my home in Namuyemba but we will not hold any public rally instead we will wave to our supporters as we make our way to my home,” Wetangula stated.
