Mouth-Watering Deals That Babu Owino Offered DJ Evolve to Drop Attempted Murder Case

A Nairobi Court agreed on an out-of-court settlement of an attempted murder case involving Embakasi East lawmaker Babu Owino against Felix Orinda AKA DJ Evolve, that saw its withdrawal.

The MP was set to answer to charges of attempting to murder the DJ after he allegedly shot him twice in the neck with a Steyr M9-A1 pistol while at a popular club in Kilimani Estate, Nairobi.

Documents seen by The Standard indicate a range of mouth-watering deals that Babu Owino offered DJ Evolve to agree to drop the case, which threatened his political career.

First, the MP promised to clear DJ Evolve’s hospital bill which was Ksh17 million, to cater for admission and ICU treatment, at Nairobi Hospital. Babu also stated that he would buy a customized car for the DJ.

Secondly, Babu is set to pay 2-year rent in advance for DJ Evolve and cater for several bills such as internet and drug costs to haste his recovery progress.

Babu is then tasked with building a house for DJ Evolve and registering it under the name of Orinda family before finally funding the construction of a DJ academy which will be run by DJ Evolve.

Following the ruling delivered on December 14, 2021, by Magistrate Bernard Ochoi, the controversial MP disclosed that DJ Evolve has been recuperating well, and the reconciliation had seen the two parties form a formidable bond.

“I can just say God is so great. He has always been with me. He has never forsaken and never left me, and I am thanking Him.

“There are a lot of things we agreed on medical and compensation of physical things. We agreed in the spirit of forgiveness. DJ Evolve’s family is my family and mine is his. DJ Evolve is my brother forever,” stated the lawmaker.

However, the ruling did not mean that Owino will be set free wholly as he will still answer to the charges of misbehavior with a firearm while in public.
