Drama erupted at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) offices this morning after Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria and his supporters stormed Anniversary Towers building in Nairobi.

For the second day running, wa Iria was seeking audience with IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati after he was knocked out of the presidential contest.

The Usawa Kwa Wrote party leader and some his backers were locked in the lift for more than 30 minutes.

“This is deliberate. You will kill us” the governor said while stuck in the elevator.

The county boss is demanding answers in regard to his disqualification as a presidential contender in the August General Election.

Wa Iria claims that he met all the requirements, but still the electoral agency failed to clear him.
