Mutahi Ngunyi: Ruto is the new Lord of Poverty

Re-known political scientist and scholar Mutahi Ngunyi says Deputy President has switched from Lord of the Hustle and is today the new Lord of Poverty. In a tweet, Ngunyi wondered why DP William Ruto decided to purchase benches from Jua Kali artisans instead of hospital beds for the sick just like President Uhuru Kenyatta has.

”Why did the HUSTLER buy BENCHES to be placed at jobless CORNERS? Why not buy HOSPITAL beds from the YOUTH, the way PRESIDENT KENYATTA did?” Ngunyi wondered.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday ordered two Kiambu based artisans Mungai Gathogo and Joseph Muhinja to deliver 500 beds to various hospitals in the country.

Besides the order, the Head of State has promised them technical skills and equipment through numerical machining complex to hasten production and improve quality.

Currently, the innovators employ 7 young Kenyans and at Sh 65,000 per bed,the duo will now hire more youth to ensure maximum production.

In the Tweet against Ruto, the political scholar who coined the word ‘Lord of Poverty’to refer to ODM leader Raila Odinga also questioned why the DP would sponsor anti-government riots.

”And why SPONSOR youth RIOTS on Mombasa Road over FAKE Kazi Mtaani payments? ANSWER: LORD of the HUSTLE is the new LORD of POVERTY.”
