NCIC dismisses claims that ban targeted certain politician’s slogans

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has dismissed claims that the banning of certain words in the political circles was targeted at certain politician’s slogans.

According to a statement send to news rooms, the commission said the ban was based on how the words were being used in the 2022 campaigns.

NCIC chairman Samuel Kobia said the commission reached the decision after following conversations and how those conversations have been framed towards violence.

Kobia reiterated the commission’s commitment to ensure the words cease to be used in the political circles.

Sipangwingwi, kama noma, Chunga Kura, ‘Mende, Madoadoa, Watu wa kurusha mawe, ‘Watajua hawajui, ‘wabara waende, Wakuja, and Operation linda Kura are some of the words banned by the commission
