The podcast will be Netflix’s first African podcast.
Never Late, African Time, a podcast by Netflix, its first-ever in Africa, is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, May 4th.
The podcast hosted by South Africans Andy Maqondwana and Zweli Mbhele will focus on “African stories”, celebrating the continent’s content and its viability as the next frontier. According to the show’s blurb, “We’ve got stories, we’ve got laughs and a whole lot of quotable moments.”
The podcast will feature a number of stars from Africa including Kenya’s Kate Kamau who continues to cement her foothold as one of Kenya’s foremost actresses worldwide.
The podcast is one of Netflix’s projects aimed at celebrating Africa in anticipation of Africa day on May 25th in an initiative dubbed From Cape to Cairo.
In a statement detailing the initiative, Netflix said, “With this rich cultural heritage, there’s a multitude of stories to be told from, and about, the continent and its people. That’s why in May, Netflix is celebrating these stories and storytellers in anticipation of Africa Day on 25 May through a new collection titled From Cape to Cairo.”
The podcast will be available to stream on Africa on Netflix’s YouTube channel, Spotify and Apple.
