The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader made the low-key comeback days after Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed flew to the Arabian country to check on their party leader.
Raila flew to Dubai on June 21, to seek specialised treatment for what his brother Oburu Oginga termed as minor back surgery.
“Jakom (Raila) is out of the country for a minor surgical operation on his back. It is not a serious health issue, but just a minor one. So, he’s okay,” Oginga told Daily Nation.
Mohammed and Joho took the same flight to visit the politician on Thursday, July 13, and after arrival, they said the former premier was recovering well and was longing to come back home.
“We met him and he was in high spirits. We had tea together and briefed him about what is going on back at home. He told us he was eager to be back home. We updated him about the political situation in Kenya and we laughed together,” the MP said.
The two leaders’ trip to Dubai elicited reactions on social media after they posted photos of them in the jet,.
Social media went into a frenzy after a lady’s handbag was spotted under the table the two were using.
The Suna East lawmaker had to show the owner of the bag to quell the wild innuendo on social media.
