Governor Ngilu when she stopped her motorcade to meet Ms Pendo and her child.
Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu on Friday morning warmed the hearts of Kenyans, after photos of her helping a sick Tanzanian mother leaked online. Ms Ngilu says she could not go home in peace after seeing Pendo Masonga in Nairobi.
The 20-year-old Tanzanian national was sitting beside a road in Nairobi and had a malignant growth on her mouth. Ngilu stopped her official car, interacted with her together with her child and offered to pay for her Maxillofacila operation at the Kitui Referral hospital.
The medical procedure will be conducted at the Kitui Teaching and Referral Hospital
Last week, Governor Ngilu accused Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka for being behind her ouster attempts by Kitui MCAs. Speaking on Radio Maisha, the Governor claimed Kalonzowas giving instructions to his MCAs who are the majority, to topple her.
“He attended my swearing-in ceremony and warned me that I will not have an easy time because he has majority members in the Assembly. It has now come to pass,” she said.
The governor, who is facing rebellion form her MCAs, said she will not get fairness from the county Assembly, noting that the Wiper brigade was under pressure to impeach her.

“We have written several letters to the Assembly, but to date they have not responded to any of them. They are under pressure from the party leadership to remove me. It is all politics,” she added.
The assembly has 54 MCAs, out of these, 30 are from the Wiper party while Ngilu’s Narc party has 12. The rest are from smaller parties and independents.
