Pole Sana: Rabai MP William Kamoti Dies Hours After Being Cleared to Defend His Seat

Rabai MP William Kamoti is dead.

The lawmaker passed away on Sunday evening.

According to Kilifi North police boss Jonathan Koech, Kamoti was involved in a serious road accident along the Kilifi-Mombasa highway.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) confirmed the death of its MP and sent a condolence message.

“It’s with shock and sadness that we as @TheODMparty have received the news of the untimely death of our MP for Rabai, Hon. William Kamoti, shortly after presenting his nomination papers to @IEBCKenya. We stand with the people of Rabai. Rest in Peace Hon. Kamoti,” the party said in a statement.

Hours before his death, the Rabai MP had received a nod from the electoral commission to defend his position after his nomination documents were verified.
