Private Schools in Coast region celebrate remarkable KCSE performances – KBC

Private schools in the coastal region are celebrating exemplary performances in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education KCSE released on Monday.

Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed secondary School was among the top schools in the region with top student Asia Abubakar Ali scoring an A of 82 points.

Omar Adan on the other hand scored an A-, Samira Mohammed had an A-, Yusra Rashid A-, Nafin Swaleh Awash who also scored A-, while Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s sister Mwanaisha Ali Joho, scored a B+.

17 years old Asia attributed her performance to the teacher student relationship saying her ambition is to study medicine in the University.

“My parents and teachers supported me a lot, I am happy to be the top student in my school. My aim was to study medicine in the University,” She said.

Deputy Principal Shaikh Rashid Rajab said the good results were as a result of hard work and a good relationship between learners and teachers.

He said although COVID-19 disrupted learning for some of the learners, the performance was impressive congratulating parents and learners for results.

“We had good relationship between parents, learners and teachers, that is why we performed well, this is despite the disruptions caused by COVID-19,” He said.

Among the young best performing candidates was 16 years old Jaden Angella from Alliance girls high School who scored A-of 82 points.

Angela who stays in Kiembeni with her parents but is originally from Kiambu County said her performance was as a result of hard work and dedication.

“I felt very good when the CS George Magoha mentioned my name as among the best performing young students, my dream is to become a neurosurgeon when I go to university,” She said.

Her father Amigo Nobert expressed satisfaction with the performance saying his daughter is a go getter and a hard worker.

“We anticipated that she will perform well especially after being the top student in her KCPE back then, we knew she will post good results,” Nobert said.

There were celebrations at Muslim School after Sumaya Ahmed of Qubaa scored an A plain of 81 points a scene replicated at Memon Academy where Mohammed Hassan also scored an A plain of 81 points.

Obwire Najala Adhman from Istiqama Secondary School, an orphan who solely depended on well-wishers to peruse his education beat the odds scoring a remarkable mean grade of A – (minus).

Najala now hopes to pursue medicine in the university.
