Raila Jets Out The Country For Week-Long Trip to Ethiopia And India

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has left the country for a week-long trip to Ethiopia and India.

In a statement issued on Friday, 4th February his spokesperson Denis Onyango said that Raila is expected to attend the African Union’s 35th Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The two-day event will take place from 5th to 6th February.

“In his capacity as the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa, Mr Odinga will hold Infrastructure related events and meetings on the sidelines of the Summit,” Onyango said in the statement.

After the summit, the former Prime Minister will head to India before returning to the country next week.

Raila who is currently in Addis Ababa shared photos via his Twitter handle with former Ethiopian PM Hailemariam Desalegn Boshe and Ethiopia’s ambassador to Kenya Meles Alem.

“Great catching up with Hailemariam Desalegn Boshe, former Ethiopian PM, and Meles Alem, their Ambassador to Kenya, before taking off for Addis Ababa to attend an AU meeting,” he stated.
