Former Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has been appointed the Executive Director of the Azimio la Umoja secretariat.
The appointment was announced on Wednesday, 6th April by ODM Communications Director Dennis Onyango.
Onyango stated that the appointment takes effect immediately.
“A communication specialist by training, Hon Tuju has decades of experience in politics and government, having served as Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister and Jubilee Party Secretary-General,” said Onyango.
In his new role, Tuju is expected to coordinate Azimo coalition partners as well as lead the strategic and program teams to ensure the coalition led by Odinga forms the next government after the August 9 General Election.
Tuju will work along with with Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi, who chairs Raila’s campaign board, as well as Prof Makau Mutua who is the campaign spokesperson and head of the team’s think tank.
His appointment came a month after his resignation as the Jubilee Secretary-General during the party’s National Delegates Convention (NDC) at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi.
The former Rarieda MP and CS without portfolio said he resigned from his position to focus on other political responsibilities.
Tuju was replaced by Ndaragwa Member of Parliament Jeremiah Kioni.
