Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga is calling on his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) counterpart William Ruto to henceforth stop berating the government or step down from the Deputy President’s post.
The ODM leader charged that Ruto has no moral authority to find fault in the Jubilee administration which he serves as one of its highest-ranking officials. He wondered why the DP was quick to disparage the government’s performance when he continues to draw salary and allowances courtesy of his position as deputy president.
“If the government has done nothing like you are saying, why can’t you leave, why haven’t you resigned?”
“You are still enjoying perks from the government, you are being paid by the same government you are in, and yet you still find time to blame others,” he said
The former Prime Minister is adamant that Ruto must henceforth cease fighting the government if he is unwilling to relinquish the DP’s post.
Raila made the remarks during his meet the people tour of Nyandarua and Nakuru Counties where he called on the area residents to rally behind his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He promised to transform the country’s economic fortunes in record time in the event he is announced the winner of the August 9th presidential poll.
