Deputy President William Ruto’s business associate Aydin Harun has been deported from Kenya – according to his lawyers.

Harun, a Turkish national, was reportedly deported on Monday morning, August 9, after being detained by the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) for two nights.

Speaking at Kahawa Law Courts on Monday, August 9, his lawyer, Ahmednassir Abdullahi, indicated that Harun was deported from Nairobi back to Turkey.

“Confirmed Harun Aydin was deported. The government realised it can’t sustain a criminal case.

“How can you arrest someone from the streets everyday and say that he has financed terrorism and then as the government you do not even have the guts to bring him to court so that you can see that process through. It shows how shameless,” the Senior Counsel announced.

He further vowed that with the assistance of other lawyers, he will challenge the decision to deport the Turk claiming that the decision was made without proper procedure.

His sentiments were corroborated by Digital Strategist Denis Itumbi who claimed that the Turkish citizen was also a brother to a former Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

“Harun Resit Aydin deported. For the record, Aydin is a Turkish citizen and a brother to a former PM of Kazakhstan,” claimed Itumbi.

The woes began on Monday, August 2, when Deputy President William Ruto was blocked from leaving the country and flying to Uganda via the Wilson Airport.

It was later revealed that as part of his mission was an investment in which both the DP and Harun were going to oversee.
