Johnson Sakaja, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance and UDA candidate for Nairobi gubernatorial seat, has chosen Absa Bank Kenyan Ltd Chief Operating Officer James Njoroge Muchiri as his running mate.

Muchiri ran for governor of Nyandarua in the recently finished United Democratic Alliance (UDA) primaries, but lost to billionaire Kiarie Badilisha.

Sakaja plans to present him today in the afternoon, along with the Nairobi team lineup, which includes members of parliament and county assemblies.

The team will be paraded at Deputy President William Ruto’s Karen residence in Nairobi, according to sources.

In the August General Election, they will square it out with the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya contenders.

Polycarp Igathe of Jubilee is the Azimio’s gubernatorial candidate, and he will be deputised by Philip Kaloki of the Kalonzo Musyoka-led Wiper Democratic Movement.

Senatorial ticket was given to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, while incumbent Woman Representative Esther Passaris will defend his seat.

For Kenya Kwanza, Margaret Wanjiru will run for senator while Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga will the coalition’s flag for the Women Rep post.
