Seven people were arrested and fined Ksh. 1000 each for not wearing masks in Migori County.

Reports from Kamagambo Police Station indicate that the seven were picked by law enforcement officers and health officials on Friday morning.

They were arraigned before a Rongo court and fined Ksh. 1000 each.

In the past three days, a total of 47 people have been arrested and fined between Ksh. 1000 and Ksh. 5000 in Rongo Sub County for not wearing masks in public.

In Suna East Sub County, a similar crack down is being carried out by health officers in collaboration with the security officers.

Suna East sub county police boss Stanley Atachavi said they have arrested and charged over 30 people who were found not wearing masks in public.
