Shock as Naivasha woman hangs her four children to death, leaves chilling confession note to eldest son

Local police have confirmed that all the four children killed in Naivasha on Saturday 27th June were strangled to death by their own mother.

According to detectives handling the shocking case, the children aged between eight and two were lured into the bedroom by their 42-year-old mother where she killed all four of them and laid their dead bodies on the bed.

The murdered minors were identified as Melody Warigia (8), Willy Macharia (6), Samantha Njeri (4) and Whitney Nyambura (2). Two of them (Warigia and Macharia) were students at Milimani primary school in Naivasha.

On Saturday afternoon, tears and wailing rocked the area near Naivasha High School as neighbours and residents struggled to come to terms with the unimaginable act.

From police reports, the woman had three children from her first marriage but fell out with her husband who left them behind.

She then remarried in Naivasha where she worked with an NGO in educating youth on emerging job opportunities and had four children with her new partner; all of whom she killed last week.

Even more surprisingly, she left behind a repulsive confession note addressed to her first born son from the first marriage whom she instructed to take care of his other two siblings and apologised for her actions.

Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru confirmed that officers recovered the note from the crime scene.

In the letter exclusively acquired by uhondo.news dated June 26, the author of the letter says she trusts and believes that he the first born son will be responsible enough to take care of his siblings, begging him not to panic for what she was about to confess.
She goes on to explain that it was not her wish to kill the four children, adding that had she had a stable job, she would not have committed the atrocious act.

“If only I had a stable job, I would not have killed your siblings. I have murdered my four kids to cut off the generation link from their family. It’s hard to bring up a child all knowing what hard life awaits them. I love them so so much not to see them suffer,” read part of the two-page letter.

She goes on to advise Alex – the firstborn son – to do his best and overcome the challenge of their difference in character and selflessly take care of the others, adding that he should work his hardest and finish his education and seek necessary guidance from God through prayer.

“Learn to tolerate one another,” she urges him.  “As for me, I wish to spend the rest of my life in prison for my evil deeds,” reads the letter.

She further warns her son against entering into any dealings with her former boyfriend, terming him an evil man.

She claimed that although she loved him, she came to realise that all that he owned belonged to his old sugar mummy.

The woman, however, informs her son that his biological father is alive and well, then goes on to note down his current location and address.

From the note, the woman said she had defaulted her May and June rent as well as her water and electricity bills.

She also asked her son to enquire from two people named in the letter on where to bury his dead siblings.

Lastly, she asks the son to keep her clothes safe, especially the ones she bought recently, warning that nobody should wear them.

“I will turn myself to the police for murder charges. Jail is now my new home, I love you, God willing we will meet again.”

According to the woman’s brother, she worked with an NGO in Naivasha and was laid off two months ago due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This, he says, left her extremely depressed as she could no longer afford to feed her children.

He admits that they feared something was amiss due to some comments she posted on the family WhatsApp group.

On going to enquire, they found that she had already killed the four children.

He added that his sister further urged them to pray for her children and that she was sorry for what she did.

A neighbour, while speaking to the press said he had seen the children playing the previous day but got concerned on Saturday after their house remained closed.
