The demolition of Simmers sounded a death knell to Nairobi night life. The bands playing music were good, the music was good, the alcohol hit differently and women of night were littered everywhere. It was just as famous as The Strip in Las Vegas…internationally recognized..

The women of night were denied their livelihood. I don’t know where they relocated to. I have never understood why places of national and international importance could just be done away with like this and with so much ease…

In Thailand for example and other countries, it is places like this that attract tourists. All we have in this city are coffee shops. Which tourist would travel from Europe to come drink coffee in nairobi?
