– David de Gea was thought to be responsible for Chelsea’s goals against the FA Cup
– Solskjaer believes De Gea should have saved Blues’ second goal scored by Mason Mount
– Bruno Fernandes scored United’s consolation in the closing minutes of the clash
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted David de Gea’s place in Man United could be under threat following his woeful performance against Chelsea during the FA Cup.
The Spaniard’s goalkeeping blunders during the semi final clash played on Sunday, July 19, at Wembley Stadium saw both Olivier Giroud and Mason Mount capitalise on De Gea’s errors to sink United.
A Harry Maguire own goal in the 74th minute which De Gea should have stopped put the game beyond the Red Devils as Chelsea secured a huge win to reach the FA Cup finals.
The Spanish goalkeeper has evidenced a steady decline in recent months and Solskjaer appears to be running out of patience with him.

‘Everyone has a chance every time we perform to stake a claim in the team. David knows he should have saved the second goal, that’s done now and we have to look forward to Wednesday,” the manager continued.
Solskjaer, however, observed he had no regret playing the 29-year-old in goal despite Romero playing a pivotal part in United’s cup competitions campaign.
