The Gikuyu Council of Elders has told Deputy President William Ruto to stop being a power hungry individual who has no interests of Kenyans at heart. While addressing the press in Nairobi, the elders, led by the Supreme Kikuyu Elder Kariuki wa Kibui, told Ruto to help President Kenyatta in initiating development projects as well as in fighting COVID-19.
”We have seen the effort President Uhuru Kenyatta is putting in uniting the country as well as our people. We expect every leader to stand behind the head of state,” Kariuki wa Kibui said.
The elders wondered why a section of Mt Kenya MPs are going around the region hurling insults at President Uhuru Kenyatta. On the BBI, Kibiu affirmed their support for the proposed constitutional amendment provided it will guarantee Kenyans peace.
”We support any changes and reforms that will ensure equity both at the national level and the county level in sharing of the national and local resources,” he added.
