Suspected bandits kill two in Turkana

Suspected bandits Thursday evening attacked Napeitom village in Turkana East sub-county, killing two people among them a Grade 2 pupil.

According to Sylvester Lobuin, an ECD teacher at Napeitom Primary School, the group of about 20 armed bandits stormed the institution and started shooting aimlessly.

The school boy was hit and died on the spot, as another group of attackers also shot dead a middle-aged woman in the village.

The bandits are then said to have taken off with over 130 sheep and goats and fled.

Turkana East Member of Parliament Ali Mohamed Lokiru condemned the incident terming it as unfortunate, further blaming the government for inadequately facilitating Napeitom Police Post.
