Renegade Siaya MCA reprimanded by colleagues over spying for the executive wing last week turned chaotic and dramatically stormed the county assembly chamber protesting over his prolonged suspension.
The firebrand South East Alego ward representative Joseph Mboha has proved to be a thorn in the flesh for his colleagues following his constant moves that have frequently set assembly members against executive wing of Siaya county government and voters.
Mboha who fashions himself as an ardent anti-corruption crusader within the Siaya county assembly at one point sensationally claimed that his colleagues who are not happy with his style of operation were hatching a plot to kill him.
He has been accused of leaking what are labeled as sensitive information to the executive wing and members of the press and had formed the habit of bursting corruption plotters, something that has not gone down well with those baying for his blood.

Governor Rasanga

Motor-mouth Mboha decried that his enemies had resorted to the services of goons who were instructed to silence him over his decision to expose dirty activities inside the county assembly.
Siaya subcounty Police commander Justus Kucha weighed into the matter and assured the troubled MCA of his safety adding the matter had been taken seriously by the police who are now giving the MCA a round-the-clock protection.
Some of his ardent accusers are his Yimbo East counterpart Francis Otiato, Leonard Oriaro (Central Alego) and Emily Awita (nominated) recently pushed a motion that stripped his powers to sit in three committees.
According to Mboha, the same group has teamed up with other colleagues in moves calculated at antagonising him and sponsor party Orange Democratic Movement.
He blamed five MCAs, Michael Onyuowre, Nicholas Rajula, Francis Owino, Sylvester Owuor and Shadrach Sewe for contacting Orange House to have him tamed over his stand.
In one incident, Otiato through a motion incited the entire house against Mboha following accusations that he used a WhatsApp platform managed by Governor Cornel Rasanga to discredit the assembly’s powers to oversee the executive.
His move mildly highlighted the existing bad blood between Siaya speaker and Rasanga who are said to be at loggerheads on most matters concerning the county.
In the WhatsApp post Mboha belittled the assembly saying it had no moral authority to oversee the executive, in reaction to the MCAs antics after the executive headed by Rasanga delayed in disbursement of bursary funds.
The move to suspend the South East Alego MCA irked voters who have been furiously demanding for his immediate comeback to the assembly with claims that his suspension motion was only a witchhunt planned and orchestrated by leaders protecting personal interests.
Residents of South East Alego are increasingly getting impatient with a decision to suspend their leader which has stagnated implementation of development in the ward.
