President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday emphatically stated that a Raila Odinga’s presidency is inevitable.

The Head of State assured Azimio la Umoja supporters that the former Prime Minister will form the next government.

“This one I have no doubts about. Raila Odinga is the next President of Kenya. His government will bring all Kenyans together,” he said.

The President spoke during the Azimio National Delegates Convention (NDC) at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) in Nairobi. Raila was endorsed as the coalition’s presidential candidate.

Thereafter, he accompanied Raila to a public rally at the Jacaranda grounds in Nairobi. The message was still the same.

The Jubilee Party leader said he will now join the former Prime Minister in the campaign trail until the election is conducted.

“We will do our campaign in peace. We want a leader who will take Kenya to greater heights.”

He added that many people thought he was just muzzling the opposition for legitimacy purposes.

“When we started working with Raila four and a half years ago, many thought we will not be in the same camp in 2022. Now we are in 2022 and everyone can see I was honest,” he said.

The Kenya leader paid homage to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for shelving his presidential quest in favour of the opposition chief.

President Kenyatta said the step showed great nationalism and love for the country.

“We must all thanks Kalonzo Musyoka. He said the country is greater than an individual. We will work together towards a common goal. The government of Raila Odinga will accommodate all Kenyans. It will be a government for all tribes in Kenya.”
