The idea to attack Luhyia leaders by Mudavadi supporters and a section of Tanga Tanga allied bloggers is ridiculous, uncalled for and a bad strategy from the Mudavadi camp. Mudavadi supporters should not burn the bridge before they cross the river.
Quite notable was a tweet from
Dennis Itumbi which said, “Lakini what happened to Journalism and Truth? 40
MPs? Do we have 40 Luyha MPs? Even assuming they all attended? Just simple,
obvious Facts. Are Western Constituencies not 24? Almost half of those did not
show up. But hey @StandardKenya FAKE News counted 40 MPs.”. While Itumbi has
the right to free speech, his interest in Luhyia matters in interesting and suspect.
Whose agent, does he represent?
The Kajiado meeting was a Luhyia affair and Tanga Tanga has enough Luhyia bloggers who can ask the same questions. His meddling into Luhyia affairs is a direct disrespect to the Luhyia nation.
Let Luhyias handle their own issues. Luhyia leaders are represented from western Kenya and Transnzoia regions and other urban centers that include Nairobi. We also have nominated Members of parliament, women Representatives and senators.

A Tweet from Hon Atwoli said, “Today
I hosted 40 Members of National Assembly, 4 Governors, 10 Senators, Speaker Ken
Lusaka, CS Eugine Wamalwa, Speaker Beatrice Elachi and other eminent Luhya
leaders to discuss issues that centered around Luhya unity and prosperity”
“They unanimously nominated
me, Governor Oparanya and Waziri Wamalwa to lead negotiations with government
and future political repositioning. We have resolved to start negotiations with
GoK to revive the sugar industry and establish other viable industries in the
region.”

There is nothing wrong with the nomination of Honorable Francis Atwoli, Eugene Wamalwa and H.E Wycliffe Oparanya to represent Luhyias in the ongoing restructuring of the government and in other initiatives that are of benefit to the Mulembe nation.
In any case, Hon.Mudavadi had
indicated that he is already in the NASA coalition and that he had no interest
in joining another one, instead, he wanted to focus on his match to state house
come 2022.
As the Luhyia spokesperson, he should have held discussions with other Luhyias leaders and find a consensus on the way forward, appoint someone who can negotiate with the government on his behalf as the official spokesperson of the Luhyia community if he didn’t want to be seen as part of the new structure.
However, since that didn’t happen,
there is no reason why everyone in Mudavadis corner should come with their guns
blazing for anyone that attended the Kajiado meeting.
It appears as if any attempt to
unite Luhyas is met with significant resistance, especially from those who don’t
even come from western Kenya. These are the kind of people who capitalize on
Luhyia disunity for their political gain.
Unity of purpose is essential for the political success of the Mulembe people. Luhyias MUST appreciate and thank GOD for honorable Atwoli for his continued efforts to unite Mulembe nation.
This is because there is no any other Luhyia with the capacity to bring together all Luhyia leaders as Hon.Atwoli has continued to do. We must therefore defend and protect our leaders from public ridicule by the enemies of the Luhya unity .
