According to The Citizen, Mwalimu, who closed down Lulazi Health Centre at the Coast region which, according to her, recorded the last case of the virus on May 26, said the remaining centres also included private hospitals.
Mwalimu, however, asked Tanzanians to continue observing containment measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
“We are thankful that new infections and COVID-19 cases had significantly dropped,” the minister said.
The John Magufuli- led nation has been easing restrictions of COVID-19 citing the plummeting number of cases.
However, it has not been releasing official figures on the status of the pandemic in the country and the Magufuli has been accused, on a number of occasions, of downplaying the pandemic.
A little less than a month ago, Magufuli announced that Tanzania had won the battle against coronavirus courtesy of prayers and timely God intervention.

“Even at this time when we are fighting coronavirus, God has helped us win. I don’t see anyone wearing a face mask here, this is a clear indication Tanzania is safe,” he claimed.
Though the country made its coronavirus data public in mid-April, the United States had claimed hospitals in Dar es Salaam were overwhelmed by COVID-19 patients.
The US warned its citizens the risk of contracting COVID-19 in Dar es Salaam was “extremely high”.
The Tanzania leader had reopened schools and allowed sporting activities to resume.
