Last month, President Kenyatta sent Sports CS Amina Mohamed to Tanzania for talks in efforts to amend relationships between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Head of State also invited President Samia to Nairobi.

Amina’s visit to Tanzania was also aimed at delivering Uhuru’s Kenyatta’s message to Suluhu amid a strained relationship between Tanzania and Kenya.

President Samia Suluhu reaffirmed her administration’s readiness and willingness to collaborate closely with Kenya in order to strengthen both countries’ trade ties and mutual interests.

“President Suluhu has committed to continue with what the late President John Magufuli started that of ensuring that both nations relate harmoniously,” Tanzania’s Chief Spokesperson Gerson Msigwa said in a statement.
