Tea Auction Prices Stagnate at $2.38 Per Kilogram

The weekly Mombasa Tea Auction held on 11th, 12th, and 13th April 2022 had 12.6 million kilograms of tea offered for sale. The amount on offer decreased from 12.7 million kilograms during the previous sale, and 12.9 million kilograms during a similar period last year.

Of all the tea offered for sale, 11.1 million kilograms were sold, compared to 11.5 million kilograms during the previous sale, and to 11.5 million kilograms sold during the same period last year.

The tea auction recorded a stagnation in prices, with a kilogram selling at an average price of $2.38, similar to during the previous sale held on 4th, 5th, and 6th April 2022, but increased when compared to $1.83 during the same period last year.
