This is how I used my first KISS FM salary

Jalango Salary: In every career, people will always remember their very first salary. This includes the amount of money they got paid and how they used it.

It is no different for celebrated radio personality Jalang’o. When he joined Kiss FM after the exit of comedian Nyambane a few years ago, Jalang’o knew he was up for a top dollar salary.

He joined the KISS Fm breakfast show which he hosted alongside Caroline Mutoko. That end month, after getting paid, Jalang’o used his very first pay check to treat his friend Captain Otoyo. He called Otoyo and the two had lunch to celebrate his biggest pay by then.

“I checked my salary and withdrew 2K, I then went to Mac Fries and bought fries. I called Otoyo and told him ’kuja hapa kuna chipo na kuku,” Jalang’o said.

He also added that he bought some household items to change his living statuses. ”I also bought myself a new bed and upgraded my TV. I bought a new one for around 18-20K, at least it was clear than what I had. Can you imagine sleeping on a new bed, watching TV and you are full?” he said.

Jalango salary is currently ranked as one of the highest in Kenya’s radio industry, and especially going by the lucrative rates that Radio Africa Group pays its top employees.
