Tifa Polls: Raila Most Preferred Presidential Candidate in Three Counties

Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga is the most preferred presidential candidate in three selected counties.

According to an opinion poll by Trends and Insights for Africa (Tifa), released Tuesday, 3rd May Raila remains the most popular candidate in Nairobi, Makueni and Mombasa counties with 41 per cent, 48 per cent and 50 per cent respectively.

Raila is closely followed by Deputy President William Ruto of Kenya Kwanza at 26 per cent in Nairobi and 32 per cent in Mombasa and 18 per cent in Makueni Counties.

The survey also indicates that ODM Party is the most popular at 26 per cent followed closely by UDA at 22 per cent.

Meanwhile, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja is the most preferred governor for Nairobi at 23 per cent followed by Polycarp Igathe at 15 per cent, Richard Ngatia at 3 per cent, and Anne Kananu at 1 per cent.

ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna leads in the Senatorial race for Nairobi city with 19 per cent followed by Bishop Margaret Wanjiru who has 6 per cent.

In Mombasa County Abdulswamad Sharrif (ODM) has a 40 per cent support compared to Mike Sonko’s (Wiper) 28 per cent.

The survey was conducted in April with 1,950 respondents taking part.
