Two women have taken to a newspaper to mourn a former military man they both claim is their husband.
Alice Nyambura and Eunice Wanjiku paid for separate death and funeral announcements in the Daily Nation, but they could not agree who is the legitimate first wife of Lt. Col (Rtd) David Njoroge Mwaura.
Both were assertive that Mwaura is their husband, but the question of who is the first and second wife could not be answered.
In her obituary, Nyambura said she was the legitimate wife while Wanjiku is a divorcee.
“…Beloved husband to Alice Nyambura. Ex-husband to Eunice Wanjiru,” an extract from the announcement reads.
However, Wanjiku suggested that she is the first wife and Nyambura is the second spouse to the businessman.
“…Beloved husband to Eunice Wanjiku and Alice Nyambura,” part of her obituary indicated.
Interestingly, both obituaries had the same information except the part where the two widows were claiming the first wife status.
Mwaura will be laid to rest today, August 26, at his home in Githunguri, Kiambu county.
He is survived by the two women and their five children.
